Cyprus Marathon 6 March 2005
Ultra Sports Pafos Marathon is an event that has grown
bigger and better over the years (500 Participants in
2004 race) and it is now recognised as the major road
race in Cyprus. Pafos Marathon attracts runners from
more than 20 different countries. The event, which will
be held on Sunday 6th March 2005, incorporates three
different distances: Marathon, Half Marathon and the
10-km Road Race. All finishers will receive a souvenir
T-shirt and a specially commissioned commemorative race
medal. Marathon event finishers will also receive an
exclusive Race Certificate. Trophies will be awarded
in 50 different group categories and for the first three
teams over all in the Marathon distance.
The start and finish areas for the Half Marathon &
10 km races are located at the Pafos Mediaeval Fort
square nearby the world famous Pafos fishing harbour.
The Marathon will start from Petra tou Romiou (Birthplace
of Aphrodite goddess of love and beauty) and finish
at the Pafos Mediaeval Fort square. Runners will be
transferred (free of charge) by buses to the start of
the Marathon race (Petra tou Romiou) from the Pafos
Mediaeval Fort near Pafos Harbour.
All participating runners will be offered free of charge
LEON Beer, orange fruit juice and mineral water, seasonal
fruit (bananas and oranges) will be offered free of
charge to all participating runners after the race.
